The BurnerAlert Beeps and Blinks To Remind You The Gas Stove Burner Is On.

Kitchen Safety

Have you left the gas stove on and forget? If you’ve been cooking for a long time, you’ve probably left the burner on at one time or another. (I did it once while drying my cast iron skillets.) It’s no laughing matter: a forgotten burner can lead to scorched pans, hands, even a stove fire. That’s why we’re curious about a new product we recently heard about that basically alerts you if you’ve left your burner on.

Here’s the gist of it: BurnerAlert is a battery-operated thin plastic disc that attaches to your stove or range knob. When you turn the knob on, it starts to flash and beep at pre-programmed intervals, and it’ll keep beeping until the burner is turned off. It works with both gas and electric stoves, and is programmed to beep at the 3 minute, 9 minute, 15 minute, 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute mark. After an hour the cycle repeats itself. Watch a video of how it works here. (You can actually use it as a cooking timer, too!)
